Gamma-ray view of the Milky Way
Speaker:Ruizhi Yang (USTC)
Venue:SWIFAR Building 2111
Time:15:00 PM, Thursday, May. 8, 2024
Abstract:
Our Galaxy is bright in gamma-ray band. These gamma-rays are mainly produced by the interaction of cosmic rays (CR) with the interstellar medium (ISM), thus can provide us important information on the origin of CRs and distribution of ISM. In this talk I will focus on the gamma-ray observations of the Giant Molecular clouds (GMCs), the Galactic plane and the Galactic Center (GC) Region, and discuss the possible implications.
