Abstract:
Quasar pairs (QPs) are of great importance on the investigation of quasar interaction and co-evolution, as well as the formation and evolution of galaxies. Lensed quasars (LQs) are one of the keys for constraining the distribution of luminous and dark matter in the universe, revealing the properties of high-redshift active galactic nuclei (AGNs), and studying cosmology. Both of them are extremely rare in the universe, with only ~400 QPs and LQs are confirmed to date, respectively. They are much less than the theoretical predictions. In this work, we employ an astrometric method to systematically hunt for candidate quasars near the known quasars, with the main aim of searching for QP candidates and expecting to confirm several previously undiscovered LQs. The preliminary follow-up observations were carried out and a possible LQ with z = 1.434 and a high-redshift QP with z = 3.1 are discovered.
