Abstract:
I will introduce the basic planet formation processes and present a pebble-driven core accretion model to study the formation of planets around stars low-mass stars and brow dwarfs. The planetary core growth is driven by by accreting cm-to-mm size small pebbles. The core mass is regulated by the so called pebble isolation mass, in which the planet starts to open a shallow gap and terminates the radial drift of the pebbles. The forming planet populations are compared with the observed exoplanets in terms of mass, metallicity and water content. Our model succeeds in reproducing several observed properties of exoplanets and correlations with their stellar hosts.
