Abstract:
The evolution of main-sequence binaries resided in the galactic centre is influenced a lot by the central supermassive black hole (SMBH). Due to this perturbation, the stars in a dense environment are likely to experience mergers or collisions through secular or non-secular interactions.
In this talk, I will discuss our recent study on the dynamics of the stellar binaries at galactic centre, perturbed by another distant SMBH. It is found that the event rate of the stellar tidal disruptions for a close SMBH binary is enhanced significantly than the one without the external SMBH.
We also discuss the event rate of double tidal disruption events (DTDEs) that two stars in binary are tidally disrupted in sequence by either supermassive black hole, and the time interval between two successive tidal disruption events. We suggest that DTDEs with large time interval (>150 days) could be a useful tool to find SMBHB candidates at galactic centers.
