中国科学院空间应用工程与技术中心团队访问梦飞巡天望远镜

A Delegation from the Technology and Engineering Center for Space Utilization, Chinese Academy of Sciences, visited Mephisto


     2024年10月13日至22日,中国科学院空间应用工程与技术中心载人航天工程巡天空间望远镜团队一行赴云南天文台丽江高美古观测基地,与云南大学1.6米多通道测光(梦飞)巡天望远镜团队开展了交流学习。

     巡天空间望远镜(CSST)是中国空间天文的旗舰级项目,其探测灵敏度和空间分辨本领与著名的美国哈勃空间望远镜相当,而观测视场和数据获取规模远超哈勃空间望远镜。

     此次来站交流人员包括空间站巡天空间望远镜项目总体部、监控中心、数据中心等多部门的研发人员。在站期间,他们详细了解了梦飞巡天望远镜的控制、运行及管理规范,实际体验了天文望远镜的观测过程,并与梦飞望远镜团队深入探讨了高质量天文数据的处理与分析。来访团队对梦飞望远镜的高效运行、管理水平及在短时间内取得的科学成果表示了高度赞赏,希望进一步深化双方的交流与合作。

    中国巡天望远镜空间站总负责人、中国载人航天工程应用系统总设计师顾逸东院士对此次交流给予了充分肯定,指出梦飞巡天望远镜对巡天空间望远镜的建设有诸多启发和借鉴意义,希望进一步加强双方团队的互学互鉴。

    梦飞巡天望远镜首席科学家刘晓为教授同样对此次双边交流达成的效果表示肯定,指出双方团队的合作交流将为推动中国天文学研究及国家深空探测发挥积极作用。



    From October 13 to 22, 2024, a delegation from the Chinese Space Survey Telescope (CSST) team at the Technology and Engineering Center for Space Utilization, Chinese Academy of Sciences, visited the Yunnan Observatory in Lijiang. The delegation engaged in productive discussions and exchanged experiences with the 1.6-meter Multi-channel Photometric Survey Telescope (Mephisto) team from Yunnan University.

    CSST is a flagship project in China’s space astronomy program. Its detection sensitivity and spatial resolution are comparable to those of the United States' renowned Hubble Space Telescope, while its observation field of view and data acquisition capacity greatly surpass those of Hubble.

    The visiting team included researchers from multiple departments, including the headquarters of the Survey Space Telescope project, the monitoring center, and the data center. During their stay, they gained a comprehensive understanding of the control, operation, and management protocols of Mephisto, actively participated in the observation process, and engaged in in-depth discussions with the Mephisto team on the processing and analysis of high-quality astronomical data. The visiting team highly valued the Mephisto telescope’s efficient operation, effective management, and remarkable scientific achievements within a short period. They expressed a strong interest in further sharing experiences and fostering deeper collaboration.

    Academician Yidong Gu, Principal Investigator of the Chinese Survey Telescope Space Station and Chief Designer of the Chinese Manned Space Engineering Application System, highly commended the exchange. He highlighted that Mephisto provides valuable insights and inspiration for the development of the CSST and encouraged continued mutual learning and collaboration between the two teams.

   Professor Xiaowei Liu, Principal Investigator of Mephisto, also recognized the outcomes of this bilateral exchange, stating that the collaboration between the two teams will contribute positively to advancing China’s astronomical research and national deep space exploration efforts.
